Mackintosh Building, Glasgow

Client: Glasgow School of Art
Architect: N/A

Will Rudd Davidson completed design of the supporting structure for installations at Glasgow School of Art. Installations included hanging art work from existing historic beams. Will Rudd Davison worked closely with the artist Michael Stumpf and the Art School to ensure the works did not damage the existing structure and that the required supports were minimal. The exhibition at Glasgow School of Art includes the ‘Now Sing’ sculpture. Will Rudd Davidson designed the supporting frame and base to allow the sculpture to stand independently on the new Reid building balcony. The installation proved to be difficult due to the central city location and timeframes, therefore the light steel frame was designed to require minimal site work and ease of installation.
