Added Value
At Will Rudd Davidson, we set out on every project to ensure that we help the Client in achieving, or exceeding, their expectations with projects. This is both in terms of finding innovative solutions in foreseeing and solving issues before they arise.
Additionally, we strive to appreciate and understand the issues of all parties within the Design Team so that we provide a service which is “Not just Engineering”.
In this instance, we were heavily involved in the choice of the structural form recognising the aesthetics of the project, and the budgetary constraints imposed. The Project was not helped by very difficult ground conditions, which required some proactive involvement during the site operations where further difficulties were encountered, to ensure that the project remained on cost and programme.
Our market leading knowledge and understanding of the requirements of statutory authorities dealing with drainage matters, allowed us to produce cost effective and reduced attenuation requirements that still met the needs of Scottish Water.
This particular project required some careful considerations to attain the Building Warrant using self certification of building structures (Structural Engineers Registration (SER)) to ensure that onerous requirements of this set of regulations was skilfully negotiated to balance programme against risk.
