Following my graduation from Heriot-Watt University in Edinburgh in 2006, I joined Will Rudd Davidson in 2007 as a Graduate Engineer, and I have been here ever since.
My role in the company is to assist the other Company Directors in the day to day running of various projects. This includes the planning of internal resources and the management of Assistant/Graduate Engineers and Engineering Technicians in order to deliver comprehensive packages of information appropriate to each project. I have a principal role in the delivery of projects providing conceptual design, detailed design, planning stage support, direct liaison with Design Team members and Client bodies, the delivery of statutory authority approvals, meeting attendance and reporting.
Since joining the company in 2007, I have been involved in a wide variety of structural and civil engineering projects including commercial and residential developments, the design of educational buildings, the redevelopment and refurbishment of historical buildings, drainage infrastructure and road design, bridge engineering and the design of large temporary works. I have been involved in the management of projects procured under both Traditional and Design and Build Contracts.
Away from the office I have a passion for music and as a musician myself I have been involved in many bands within popular music, both at local and professional level within the industry. I also attend local concerts and help to promote Edinburgh’s thriving music scene through journalism and networking. I am a keen sportsman and I enjoy playing football and golf as much as I can – or as often as my wife will let me!
